Birdcages

via Saipua
Surprise... no antlers! What a lovely set up this is for an event. This weekend I'm off to a fundraiser that a lovely friend of mine is throwing for her gorgeous ballroom-dancing daughter.  They have put LOTS of effort  into the event and I'm really looking forward to seeing it all come together.  Detail, detail, detail... it's all about the details!  It's a very good thing.  These birdcages are for them.

Have a great weekend!

One more antler...

OK, OK so the antlers have been a big feature this week.  But just one more "wafer-thin" set of antlers for you, before you need the proverbial Monty Python bucket.  Nice crates too.

Top3 goodies

How good are these diaries from Top3 by design? If I didn't love my iPhone so much then I get one.

Always a fan of these pendants too. Pick your favourite colour; green, purple, blue, grey, black, red, white or yellow!  Simple but fun!

More antlers, more antlers!

More antlers I don't hear you say! I'm always fond of the cardboard/timber varieties too and Studio Eco stock these fantastic ones (and others like it).  I found Studio Eco at Bowerbird Bazaar and I have been thinking about their products ever since.  I think I might need to pop in and see what's in stock.

Don't you love the rusty statue of the rhino?  It's always a good day when a bit of Mini spotto happens!

Rustic industrial

Rustic industrial... or a mish-mash that works? I don't mind a bit of charcoal with untreated timber.

I also love an antler or four!

Heart of Gold

Neil Young's 'Heart of Gold' has been on high rotate this weekend after a little Eat Pray Love movie action last week.  Not a huge fan of the book, but surprisingly I really enjoyed the movie.  I'm not sure whether it was the gorgeous scenery in Italy, India and Indonesia or the fact that Julia is actually a good doppelgänger for my lovely friend Megs.

Happy weekend

If you haven't visited The Cool Hunter before I encourage you take some time to have a look around.  It's full of inspiration. You might be there for awhile so grab a coffee, get comfortable and enjoy.  Some people are just so damn clever it hurts my brain just thinking about it.

Have a good weekend!

Empty frames

Over a lovely chin-wag and a good coffee at Bar 9 this morning (I might add it was well worth the trip for a coffee) we had a discussion on the virtues of empty picture frames on a wall.  Here are a few examples of where it has worked on mass.

Cu C Me

Today I saw one of these CU C Me lights by Kenneth Cobonpue. They are available from Aptos Cruz and I had forgotten just how much I love this light fitting.  It comes in various sizes and just looks magnificent.

Apartments

Coincidentally after my last post, I was at a meeting with a client and he happened to mention to me that he was in the process of buying an apartment in Paris to rent out.  Voila... the stars aligned for me that day.  All things French started speaking to me in tomes.

Being a Francophile from way back, I started imagining how fabulous it would be to be there (assisted by the vehmency of his "if you are in Paris, you must stay there!").  I'm not sure whether it was just the mere mention of Paris or close to The Louvre that really got me going, but I have to say that his "It's next to one of the best patisseries in France" that completely sold me!   Since then I have been thinking incessently of France.

Naturally I am assuming that his apartment will look like one of these...

Tres magnifique

Available for rent... here.   It boasts (and rightly so) to be a large and beautiful five bedroom farmhouse with its own land as far as you can see.  A comfortable interior with linen of the highest standard (oh la la) and the outdoor terrace seats ten around a large marble table overlooking the swings in le jardin for les enfants.  Or you could cool off in le piscine in the summer warmth.  Who's up for a holiday? Où est la banque?

Beautiful melancholy

The weather has gone all gloomy.  Why, how, when? What does it all mean?  Regardless we are all over it and it's time to bring back the pre-summer warmth we had last weekend. Who can I speak to about this?  It's outrageous!

Gloomy doesn't have to be ugly though.  I don't know where this photo came from (so many, many apologies to the photographer) but isn't it gorgeous?

Slip sliding

Could this be any more fun?  Do we need to build on just to install something similar?  I'm not sure that white walls are the best colour to have beside it but let's hope it's a high gloss finish.  Look out kids, I'm coming through!

Prettiness all in a row

Colour blocking works well in certain spaces especially with lots of white to frame it.  To me it's like another form of artwork in a room.  I think it's done particularly nicely in this room.

Tick tock

Sometimes we need time to stand still and savour the moment.  I know lots of people who have trouble with the 'here and now' and can't wait for the next event whether it be somthing that is on the next day, month or year.  Today, even if it is just for 10 minutes, I plan to enjoy the moment. I'll let you know how I go.

Love it!

A little trip to Bowerbird Bazzar on the weekend prompted a newfound love and perhaps a little regret with a non-purchase of one of these beauties from Hideyo Designs.  They are simply beautiful and their packaging perfect too.  What clever (and lovely) people!  I could do with a few.

Techno head

My new iPhone 4 arrived today and finally I can get my true techno on!  My old one has been so difficult to use since it was supposedly serviced the first time.  Love, love, love a speccy phone and all that goes with it.  I might even be able to blog on the go.

Relax to the max

Ahh, well that's what I call a good break.  I think my shoulders did the relax as soon as the first sunset was seen as we headed along the road leading to the shack.  I love to make the most of it by sitting on the sand 'oohing and ahhing' about the colour and light at that time of night and thinking about how peaceful the world is in that particular spot.

We had the most glorious spring weather, stunning sunsets (and no doubt sunrises), a bonfire on the beach, non-stop eating/drinking, boating, driving on the beach, sandcastles, slothing on the couch/deck & fun, fun, fun with great friends.

Needless to say we are back on our usual discussion surrounding the pros/cons of purchasing a little piece of real estate beachy goodness to call our own.  I wish!
